Passaquay Peak
2nd Annual Hike & Brunch at Piestewa Peak
The morning hike at Piestewa Peak followed by a brunch at Vincent’s Camelback Farmers’ Market was a worthwhile experience for everyone. We had a dynamic and fun group of 20 people that participated in the event. The hike was a moderate difficulty level, and everyone motivated each other to reach the top of the resting area. Once we reached our destination spot, it was time to wind down and mingled with other members and non-members. Afterwards, we had brunch at Vincent’s Camelback Farmers’ Market. There were fresh produce, pastries, and delicious food made to order. We were like one big family sharing our meals, talking and laughing – everyone was in good company! On a personal note, it was my day of discovery since I have never hiked on one of the trails at Piestewa Peak nor have I shopped at Vincent’s Farmers’ Market. For me, it was a well spent Saturday morning doing the scenic hike at Piestewa Peak and making new friends.

I first heard about NAAAP through Jason Wong, the President of NAAAP about six months, and this year I finally have time to attend some of the events organized by NAAAP. The first event that I had attended was the Kick-Off Celebration at C-Fu Gourmet Restaurant last month. I was impressed by the professionalism and dedication of the board members for making NAAAP a wonderful organization to join for the like minded individuals that are looking for something more than just doing business to business networking; more importantly to establish friendships and camaraderie within the Asian American communities. I am a first generation Vietnamese, and although I grew up in the states since I was 6 years old, I never forget my roots that I was an immigrant and my parents have made many sacrifices for my siblings and I to have a better life. For this reason, I want to volunteer my time to help those that are in need, and NAAAP is a well-balanced organization that not only focuses on our career developments, but they also focus on doing philanthropic projects for the community.
