 NA@AP Cares!
I have been overwhelmed by the generosity from the members of
NAAAP. My experience with this association
started out with the July Mixer at Jilly’s.
Because NAAAP wanted to reach out to their community and do
something positive, I was happy to team up with such a great
group of motivated individuals. As the Volunteer Coordinator
for Save the Family, a local non-profit, it was a perfect
match. Save the Family helps children in homeless families by
treating the whole family with programs to break the negative
cycles of poverty, abuse and homelessness. With a strong mission
in place, involvement from community members through volunteerism
is essential to operating our foundation.
After hearing about Save the Family’s mission, NAAAP
decided to take on the task of organizing a Back to
School Supply Drive. The members of NAAAP collected
over 500 school supplies for needy children at Save the Family
and presented their donation at the July mixer. I was happy
to be a guest at this event and speak about Save the Family
to such an influential group of professionals. Although I
wasn’t sure what to expect when I agreed to attend this
event, everyone was very friendly and I felt extremely welcomed.
NAAAP provides a great opportunity, not only to network with
others on a professional level, but also to become better
community citizens through volunteerism. It is this commitment
to making a difference in the community that sets NAAAP apart
from many other professional organizations. I look forward
to partnering with NAAAP again in the future because of the
generous, caring members and their commitment to building
a stronger community through service.
