Red
Doors Showing at UA College of Medicine in Phoenix
On Saturday, March 3, approximately 100 NAAAP-Phoenix members,
friends and family joined the University of Arizona
Alumni Association (Phoenix Alumni Office) to watch
the screening of Georgia Lee’s independent film, Red Doors.
The Red Doors film showing, which was held
at the UA College of Medicine in downtown Phoenix, was a collaboration
among organizations such as the National Association
of Asian American Professionals, Asian American Journalist
Association, Organization of Chinese Americans and
the Arizona Asian American Bar Association.
Local businesses owned by Asian American residents of the
Valley also had the opportunity to network with the attendees.
From a minority standpoint, I felt that the Red Doors event
was important because it allowed all of the attendees to see
the professional, social and artistic influences that Asian
Americans have on the Phoenix community. It’s inspirational
for me to see minorities hosting events such as these where
people of all backgrounds can have fun and network. I talked
to several of my Asian American friends (who did not come)
about the event and they want me to keep them posted on future
occasions. The film was outstanding because it helped to show
all of the viewers that families of all races deal with the
same issues.

of Arizona Black Alumni of Maricopa County.
